Jonell Richarz Chapman, 90, of Fair Oaks Ranch, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 8, 2014. She was born in Hondo, Texas, to Oscar and Emilie Leinweber Richarz on June 7, 1924. She grew up on a farm and ranch northwest of Sabinal and graduated from Sabinal High School. She was always proud of her German heritage being a descendant of two early D'Hanis families, Henry Joseph Richarz and John Reinhart lines, and also from the Leinweber line from Hondo.
She was married to the late Stanton "Bud" Chapman. They lived together in Sabinal, Texas, for 30 years before moving to Boerne in 1975.
She is survived by three children: Stanton Chapman and wife Phyllis of Houston; Richard Chapman and wife Debbie of Boerne; and Lanell Lange and husband David of Chaffee, Missouri. She was also blessed with 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Jonell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Aline Davis and Georgia Mae Chapman; and one brother, Oscar "Chicker" Richarz.
She was an avid golfer, bridge player, and loved doing embroidery work while watching the Spurs games. In her later years, she visited the nearby retirement homes and sang in the Boerne First Baptist Senior church choir. Jonell was well-known for her chocolate pie, colorful attire, and candid commentaries.
