Obituary:

Carl Truman Wiglesworth was born on October 29, 1940, in Cynthiana, Kentucky, to Walter Glen and Dorothy Frances Wiglesworth. He died on July 1, 2014, in San Antonio at the age of 73. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Carl is survived by his wife, Laurie Wiglesworth of Boerne; his son, John David Wiglesworth of San Antonio; his step-daughter, Leah Malfitano of Boerne; his daughter, Kathleen Mitchell of Joplin, MO; his grandson Coleman Mitchell of Joplin, MO; his brother, Gary Wiglesworth and sister-in-law Shirley Wiglesworth of Plantation, FL; and his niece Kim Gross of Woodstock, GA.

Carl fulfilled his childhood dream by becoming a radio broadcaster at age 17. Although he started out as a music DJ, his true passion emerged when he helped bring the talk radio format to San Antonio in the mid '70s. His show topics often focused on the rights of the individual and support for the ideals of the Constitution. He was a member of the Texas Radio Hall of Fame and former board member of the National Association of Radio Talk Show Hosts.

Besides radio, Carl's other loves were his family, close friends and pets. His favorite past times included traveling, cooking, and anything to do with fast cars. He will be remembered in many ways. To his radio listeners--a seeker of truth and champion of their causes. To his friends--a loyal supporter, an eager travel companion, a weekly lunch partner, or a helpful researcher. To his family--a constant source of kindness, encouragement and wisdom. Forever a beloved husband and father.

Carl's favorite phrase to live by was "Seek Joy" so in lieu of flowers please donate to something that makes you feel good.
