Dorothy Clark, age 88, formerly of Lakeway, Texas died Thursday, June 12, 2014, in San Antonio, Texas.

Dorothy was born on September 9, 1925, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Anthony and Edith Schlegel. She was the second of three children, Donald Schlegel and Lorraine Maira, all of whom have preceded her in death.

On January 19, 1946, Dorothy married Paul Clark just a short time after meeting him in person, but after years of writing to him while he served the Marines in World War II. They were married for 43 years and had 7 children. He passed away in September 1989. Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Paul (Karen) Clark of Crozet, Virginia, Dan (Cher) Clark of Punta Gorda, Florida, Gayle (Frank) Foss of Wayzata, Minnesota, Ric (Lorie) Clark of Toledo, Ohio, Julie (Ken) Gezella of New Braunfels, Texas, and Karen (Stan) Nelson of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas. She is preceded in death by her sixth child Robert Clark. She is survived by her grandchildren, Bridget Foss, Jason (Lorie) Clark, Brandon (Kari) Foss, Ryan (Amy) Clark, Sarah (Travis) Wisecamp, Jessica Morris, Brian (Lauren) Clark, Jenna Morris, Amanda Nelson, Andrew (Shelby) Nelson, and Callie Clark. Her great grandchildren include Jared and Jadin Clark, Isabel and Olive Clark, Austin and Avery Wisecamp, and Connor Clark. If you ask what Dorothy's biggest pride and joy was, she would answer her family and her church.

Dorothy moved to The Village at Incarnate Word, San Antonio in 2009. She volunteered at the Lake Travis Ladies of Charity Thrift Shop in Lakeway for over 18 years. She also served on the Benevolence Committee and at Saint John of the Cross Adoration Chapel, both at Emmaus Catholic Parish in Lakeway. Her life was dedicated to serving her family and her church.

A funeral mass will be held at the Emmaus Catholic Parish in Lakeway on July 26, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Emmaus Catholic Parish at 1718 Lohman's Crossing, Lakeway, Texas 78734.
