Obituary:

William "Bill" Diamond, 71, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014, in San Antonio, Texas. Bill had battled cancer for several years, and remained strong through each surgery and recovery.

Bill was born on January 22, 1943, in Berwyn, Illinois, to George and Lillian Diamond. He attended Lincoln College in Illinois, and later moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, where he attended Texas A&M. There he received his Bachelor of Science in Business, and was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Professional Business Fraternity.

Bill met and married Jennifer during his time in Corpus, and the two later moved back to Cicero, Illinois. Bill and Jennifer had three children: Mark, Jason, and Stacy. After moving back to Illinois, Bill worked for Central Steel for over ten years. In 1980, Bill and Jennifer moved back to Texas, and settled in Boerne. Bill went on to work for Sidermex International for eleven years. After separation from Jennifer, Bill moved to San Antonio, Texas, where he lived out the rest of his life. He enjoyed watching any sport, especially the Spurs and the Aggies, loved cars, going to Midnight Rodeo, and we can't forget bookkeeping. He made a lot of friends throughout his life, and there are too many memories to share in this space.

He is survived by his three children: Mark (Cassie) Diamond of Boerne, Jason (Melanie) Diamond of San Antonio, and Stacy (Jason) Nelson of San Antonio. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Lexi, Carson, Kennedi, and Cade, who called him Grandpa Bill and Appah. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Lillian Diamond.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014, at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home in Boerne from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the Boerne Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Donations can be made in honor of Bill to Texas A&M Corpus Christi or College Station or the American Cancer Society online at www.cancer.org, by phone at 1-800-227-2345, or mail to P.O.
