Obituary:

From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against my foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. Psalm 61:2-4

Linda entered into the arms of Jesus Sunday, 13 April 2014, after a long and brave battle with Colon Cancer. She was born to Raymond and Pearl Young on 3 October 1953, at Lackland AFB, San Antonio TX.

Linda is survived by her husband of 38 years, Dan Northrup of San Antonio; sister Elizabeth Porter of Boerne; her daughter Mary and husband Donald Russell of Kansas; two sons Daniel Northrup of San Antonio and Randall Northrup of Boerne; her grandsons Travis Northrup and Justin Russell; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Pearl Young, and brother, Ray Young.

Linda graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1972. Married on 3 January 1976, and began to raise a family. Her proudest accomplishment was being a wife and mother. She enjoyed nurturing and spending her time involved with all of her kids.

While volunteering in a church nursery she felt God's call on her life to serve the elderly. This is when the journey of her career as CNA from 1988 till 2010 began. She worked at several nursing homes and will definitely be remembered for her heartfelt tender loving care for each and every one of her patients.

Our family extends our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported us in constant prayer during her journey, to the amazing care provided by her medical team led by Dr. Syed Raza at Oncology San Antonio, and to Odyssey Hospice for their tender response to all of our needs.

In lieu of flowers the family request that you donate to eacland@panfoundation.org which, through their diligent work, offered Linda and our family HOPE by providing financial support for chemo treatment; which provided our family much more precious time with her.

Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrections of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own turn; Christ, the first fruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. 1 Corinthians 15:20-23
