Obituary:

Dennis Charles James, age 78, of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014.

He was born December 10, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Arthur Byron James and Louise Gehlbach James.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Boswell James; daughters Laura James Nicosia and husband Rick of Boerne, Sara James Dunham and husband Dan of Frisco, TX; son, Robert "Bob" James and wife Cindy Brenke James of Boerne; granddaughters Leslie Nicosia Moore (Caleb) of Dallas, Linden Nicosia of Houston, and Morgan and Emma James of Boerne; sister, Susan Eby of Stow, OH; sister-in-law, Donna LaFrazia (George) of Vancouver, WA; and many nieces and nephews.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard Byron James.

He was a graduate of Maine Township High School in Park Ridge, Illinois, and Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, where he received the Alumni of the Year Award in 2008. Dennis chaired the Westminster San Antonio Alumni Club for twenty years. He was a member of St. Mark Presbyterian Church in Boerne, Texas, and an Elder in the Presbyterian Church. Dennis was a member of Rotary, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, Sons of the American Revolution, and a volunteer at the Boerne Visitor Center.

Dennis' career was in Human Relations. He was the owner of Today's Office Staffing in San Antonio for twenty-three years before its sale in 2008.

He is remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, and a kind, patient and honest man with extraordinary ethics, sparkling eyes and beautiful smile. Dennis was always more interested in other people than in himself.

Services will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2014, 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark Presbyterian Church, 208 W. Bandera Rd., Boerne, TX, 78006. A private family inurnment will be held at Mission Park North Cemetery, San Antonio.
