Erich Bruno George went to be with the Lord December 23, 2013, after living 86 beautiful years. He loved hunting, fishing, and partying with family and friends. Erich was a World War II veteran, a hard worker, and very talented mechanic and farmer. He loved the land and taught his family many lessons about how to take care of it. He took many camping trips with family and friends in which he landed numerous huge catfish.
Erich was proceded in death by his parents, Albert and Louise George; brothers, Julius George and Fred George; sisters, Mitizi Scharmann, Tina Scharmann, and Wilhema Brandt; son-in-law, Butch Woytasczyk; daughter-in-law, Ethel L. George; and grandson John P. Downs.
Erich is survived by his wife of 45 years, Phyllis George; son, Erich E. George; daughter, Lois Downs and husband Darrell; brother, Albert George; stepchildren, Kenneth and Dawn Steitle, Royleen Woytasczyk, Cassandra and Gene Cherry, Martin Steitle, Claud E. and Bonnie Steitle, and Jerry A. and Becky Steitle; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Monday, December 30, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Sisterdale Cemetery following services.
