Amanda Lucille Jonas Nee Scheibe passed away in Boerne on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at the age of 95. She was born and raised in Boerne. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Emma Scheibe; her husband, Edgar Jonas; her son, Billy Pat Jonas; her son-in-law, Robert Fox; her brothers, Roland Scheibe and William Scheibe; and her great granddaughter, Megan Plunkett.

Mrs. Jonas was a nurse for 30 years. She worked at Hilltop Nursing Home, now known as Carechoice, and the Comfort Community Hospital. The last few years she was able to work, she was a nurse's aide at Town and Country Manor.

Mrs. Jonas is survived by her children: Pat Buck of College Station; Sharon LaGreca and husband Fred of Andover, Kansas; Nita Fox of Boerne; Debbie Merchant and husband Ray of Boerne; Janice Jonas of San Antonio; and Darrell Jonas and wife Terry of Boerne. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Friday, December 20, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Boerne Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Jonas' honor to the Patrick Heath Public Library at 451 N. Main St. Bldg. 100, Boerne, TX 78006, the Boerne Volunteer Fire Department at 726 N. Main St., Boerne, TX 78006, or to the Kendall County EMS Memorial Fund at 1175 N. Main St., Boerne, TX 78006.
