Obituary:

Cynthia "Cindi" Leigh Fite Uecker went home to the Lord on November 27, 2013, at 8:00 p.m. surrounded by her family at the age of 60 years after a short battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her father, Fulton W. Fite. Cindi is survived by her husband of 28 years, Gary Uecker; her three children: Seth Uecker, Kaitlin Guidry, and Meghan Heffelfinger; her mother, Frances "Skip" W. Fite; stepmother, Shirley Fite; sister, Kathi Estes; stepsisters, Cheryl Robertson and Linda Smith; brother, Kevin Fite; stepbrother, Richard Storts; and five grandchildren.

Cindi was a loving and devoted wife, sister, daughter, mother and grandmother, and a friend to all. She was charismatic and always full of life. She was always willing to help anyone she could, even if it was just to lend an ear. Cindi attended Southwest Texas for one year before transferring to San Antonio College to earn her degree as a Registered Nurse. She began as a nurse at Methodist Hospital, then worked for various doctors as their scrub. For several years she worked as the nurse at Bracken Christian School in Bulverde, TX before getting employed at McKenna Hospital in New Braunfels. After her employment at McKenna, she transferred to the Baptist Health System where she finished her career working in the OR under Dr. Abuabara. Cindi worked as a RN for 35 years.

She was always an active part of her family's lives and enjoyed spending time with them anytime she could. Cindi loved her plants and enjoyed spending time out in the yard making sure they looked their best. Cindi was an exceptional friend to everyone. She enjoyed time spent with her friends reminiscing about old times and creating new memories. Cindi also loved dancing and shopping. She was a very outgoing and lively woman; the type of person that leaves a handprint on your heart just by meeting her. Cindi was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.
