On Monday, November 11, 2013, just 6 days shy of his 47th birthday, Tim was greeted at Heaven's Gate by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Anges Lucas, his paternal grandparents, Francis Collins Mazon (PapPap), Betty and Ernie Hamilton, and his Uncle Lawrence Mazon.
Timothy was born on November 17, 1966, the youngest son of Roger and Carol Mazon (Lucas) of Streetsboro, Ohio.
Timothy served in the US Navy from 1986 until 1992 and earned the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class as an Electronics Technician. He was stationed aboard the USS Germantown (LSD-42) at Naval Station San Diego's 32nd Street Pier. Although the USS Germantown (LSD-42) is now stationed in Szabo, Japan, Tim's love for his ship and former shipmates never faltered. He would have joined his former Navy Buddies for their 25th Reunion in New Orleans in February of 2014. Tim was so excited to be seeing old friends. Although Tim had many friends, the family would like Kenny Kaiser (San Diego) and Damian Lang (Jackson, Ms) to know that he loved them and their friendships were cherished.
Timothy met his wife Donna, while home on leave and visiting a friend in Petersburg, Ohio. They were married on Christmas Eve of 1988. Together they built a life in Ohio and moved to Boerne, TX in 2009 with their children. While Tim was in the Persian Gulf, their daughter Brittany Rhiannon was born. When the Germantown arrived back to the 32nd Street Pier, Tim was the first person off of the ship because he was a new father. She was his Princess, his pride and joy. In 1999, while living in Streetsboro, Ohio, Tim was blessed with a son, Nicholas Ryan, who shares his father's love for the US Navy and the USS Germantown.
In the recent months, Tim had rediscovered his love of woodworking and was proud of his wood shop that he created in our garage. His love of Texas BBQ will be missed.
In addition to his wife, Donna, his daughter Brittany, and son Nicholas, he is survived by his parents, Roger and Carol Mazon, of Streetsboro, Ohio, his brother, Frank (Stefani) of Kent, Ohio, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Everyone that met Tim loved him.
Our lives will never be the same without him.
Tim wished to be cremated and in the summer of 2014, his wife and children will travel to Naval Station San Diego, along with his lifelong friend Damian Lang, to scatter his ashes into the Pacific Ocean as he requested alongside of his lifelong friend Kenny Kaiser and a few other members of his USS Germantown crew.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union, 1338 South Main St. Boerne, TX 78006 in the name of his wife Donna Mazon.
