Obituary:

Clayton "Clay" Wallace Carey, born December 31, 1992, in Huntsville, Alabama, exchanged his helmet for a crown on Wednesday, August 7, 2013.

Clay graduated from Boerne-Champion High School in 2011. He then went to Wayland Baptist University to pursue his love of football and obtain a degree in Business. He aspired to become an accountant like his mother. Clay spent an amazing summer fishing, playing basketball, shooting fireworks, swimming at the lake, and enjoying life with his friends. Clay had moved to Lubbock to work for the summer, and it was there that he joined the Lord in eternal rest.

Clay is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William and Oleta Williamson; and his paternal grandfather, M.D Carey. Clay is survived by his parents, Wallace and Holly Carey; his sisters, Amanda and Morgan Carey; his grandparents, Boyce and Ruby Williams; his grandmother, Shirley Carey; his aunts and uncles Brian and Ramona Miller, Michael and Michele Williams, Michael and Jessika Carey, Marlin Carey, and Freda Hunter; and many cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 15, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Boerne. The family requests that to honor Clay's life, forget your suits and wear your favorite sneakers and boots.
