Obituary:

Steven "Clay" Aderholt went to join his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 9, 2013. He was 36 years old. Clay was born in Canyon, TX on August 30, 1976, to Carol and Steven Aderholt. He grew up in Amarillo and went to Amarillo High School where he was an accomplished athlete and student. He was the captain and quarterback for the football team and the pitcher/center fielder for the baseball team. After high school, Clay attended Texas A&M University and was a member of the Aggie Men's Club, a Christian fraternity. He graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance. Clay went on to become a Senior Vice President, Corporate Banking with Texas Capital Bank. He developed many close, long term relationships with his clients that were based on trust and integrity.

Clay's relationship with Christ was central and foundational to all he did. Clay's pursuit of Jesus was evident and influenced each relationship in his life. Clay and his wife Allison were married for 13 years. He was a committed, loving, and faithful husband who constantly strived to serve and build a strong marriage. The Bible verse that marked their marriage was "Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain" Psalm 127:1. Clay served his family and cherished each moment he could spend with them. He always wanted to be present in his children, Reid and Gracelyn's, lives. Clay was disciplined, and as a Dad, he always prioritized his schedule to ensure he had quality time to share and play with them. For 10 years, Clay was invested in the lives of high school and college students through the youth ministry at First Baptist Church in Boerne. He and Allison together were passionate about discipling and pouring Christ's love into high school and college students. Clay was an avid sports fan, especially of Aggie football. He enjoyed golfing, fantasy football, and hunting along with other outdoor activities with his family and friends.

Clay was preceded in death by his mother Carol Aderholt and his grandfather Ed Moore . He is survived by his wife Allison and their 2 beautiful children, Reid and Gracelyn; his parents Steven and Judy Aderholt; his brother Kevin Aderholt and wife Brandi; his sister Danielle Cates and husband Heath; his brothers Chad Cisneros and wife Carol, Dallas Cisneros, and Tye Kemp; his grandparents Ray and Evelyn Aderholt and Jean Moore; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Charles and Cheryl Korbell; his brother-in-law Brian Korbell and wife Tiffany; his sister-in-law Jen Charbonneau and husband Mark; and the wonderful friends whom he valued as family.
