Norman K. Hurt went peacefully home to our Lord on March 5, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Born on September 27, 1958, he was a life-long resident of Boerne, graduating from Boerne High School in 1976. In 1989, Norman established NH Electric, Inc. which allowed him to connect and give back to his community even more.
On April 15, 1994, he was united in marriage with Robin Rodenbeck. The Lord blessed this union with a son, Hunter, in 1996 and a daughter, Halle, in 1998.
As a member of Boerne Berges Fest and Kendall County Centurions, Norman was able to give back to his hometown. He was a great supporter of the Children's Inn program with the Benedictine Sisters of Boerne and the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life along with numerous other charitable causes, often doing so anonymously.
Norman took extreme joy in teaching his children various sports. He was a member of the Boerne White Sox Vintage baseball team and a supporter of the Boerne Greyhound sports teams. After beating testicular cancer, he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, an incurable and aggressive blood cancer, in 2010. But Norman would not let the disease slow him down; continuing to run his business and attend his children's various extracurricular activities.
Norman was preceded in death by his grandmother, Emma Freeman; his father, Norman D. Hurt; and his mother, Arvelene E. Hurt.
He is survived by his loving wife, Robin Rodenbeck Hurt; children, Hunter and Halle Hurt; sister Arvelene Amari; adopted sister, Julia Gray; adopted daughters, Keely Gray and Kelsie Peterson; adopted grandson, Brockton Peterson; and cousins Effie Bingham and her children Tom, John and Nita.
Norman was a loving father, husband and mentor to many and shared his blessings selflessly to anyone in need. He will be missed dearly by all those whose lives he touched.
