Obituary:

Roxanne Schwarz, 53, of Boerne, TX died Thursday, December 20, 2012. She was born on May 21, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas. She was the daughter of Hal Blankenship of Pleasanton, Texas. On January 9, 1988, she married Dean Bradford Schwarz and moved to Boerne where she lived the remainder of her life.

She was an active member of the community from the start, volunteering with the local 4H Club and the Boerne School District. She empowered youth and gained many "children" by giving her time and energy wherever she could. She spent the last 8 years volunteering and spreading love at the Heritage Place Retirement Community where her endless time given will be greatly missed.

She was known for her amazing green thumb and garden oasis at her home where pineapples, lemons and strawberries were never in shortage. Her love for spreading holiday cheer was known by the community through her inimitable yard decorations displayed for every holiday (even Labor Day). She was the San Antonio Spurs biggest fan and would use two cell phones and her land line to vote for her American Idol. She was always doing for other people, giving and helping until her final days. She wanted the best for everyone, even if she had to convince them what was best for them.

Roxanne was preceded in death by her father, Hal Blankenship, and her brothers, Randy Blankenship and Timothy Blankenship. She is survived by her husband Brad Schwarz, son Travis Evins and his wife Angela, daughter Tiffany Evins and her fiancé Jason Phillips, two granddaughters Natalie and Lainey Evins, numerous nieces and nephews, sister Yvonne Zumwalt, and a community of friends who will never forget her, and always smile when a memory of Roxanne fills their hearts. She was laid to rest on December 23, 2012, at the Boerne Cemetery.
