Vivian Laverne Rodgers, age 81, born on October 12, 1931, in Medina, TX passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, December 7, 2012. Her husband Joe of 50 years plus and she have lived in Boerne for over 30 years. Mrs. Rodgers owned Vivian's Fabrics until she had to close it due to health reasons. She is preceded by her father and mother, Brooke and Gladys Banta of Kerrville, TX; her brothers Gerald Banta, Hilton Banta and Loren Banta; her sister, Juanita Watrous; and her son, Jerry Rodgers.Vivian is survived by her husband Joe. G. Rodgers of Boerne, TX; 3 daughters, Beverly Ware and Kathy Johnson of Boerne, TX and Jacqueline Skaggs of Kennedale, TX; 2 sons, Harlan Hardy of Marfa, TX and Tim Rodgers of Lytle, TX; 3 sisters, Loise Peterson of Georgetown, TX, Ruthie Hairston of Wylie, TX, and Carlene Banta-Fogle of Kerrville, TX; 8 grandsons and 5 granddaughters; 14 great grandsons and 5 great granddaughters; 5 great great granddaughters and 3 great great grandsons. Vivian enjoyed being outside. Because of her Dad's influence, she loved to build things. In fact, her husband and she even built a house. They always worked side by side. Vivian was an extremely strong and independent woman.
