Obituary:

Terry John Jenkins of San Antonio passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 6, 2012, at the age of 69. He was born in Perryopolis, Pennsylvania on June 18, 1943, to Albert and Amelia Jenkins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Maxine Hilton. Terry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathleen; his children, Amy Pankratz and husband Kris of Boerne, Ryan Jenkins of San Antonio, Brandon Jenkins of Boerne, and Hope Jenkins of Boerne; his sister, Arlene Budd of Boerne; his brothers Clifton Jenkins, Ted Jenkins and wife Martha, Bob Jenkins, and Albert Jenkins and wife Janice, all of whom are from Pennsylvania. Terry was blessed with 5 grandchildren: Rylie, Kinleigh, Trevin, Jackson, and Carter.

Terry grew up in Pennsylania. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After an honorable discharge for his army service, Terry became a steelworker until 1982. He met and married the former Kathleen Hanas from Charleroi, PA in 1967. They married and stayed busy raising their family. They moved to Boerne in 1982 and Terry worked in the building, construction and facility maintenance industries until his retirement in 2008, at which time the family moved to San Antonio.

Terry was a jack of all trades. He could build, sew and make beautiful flower arrangements; he could fix almost anything and he was always renovating each home his family lived in through the years. His family and home were the most important parts of his life, next to serving his Lord Jesus Christ. Terry accepted the Lord as his personal Savior in 1960 and his life was changed forever. Terry's life was a witness for the Lord and everyone knew the Lord came first in his life, always.

Christmas was Terry's favorite season. He loved everything about the season. His house looked like something out of a magazine once he finished decorating. The family jokes that he would start getting ready for Christmas in June. Terry also enjoyed being outside walking and convening with nature and all of God's creatures. Church was important to him and he loved singing in the church choir. Terry loved his wife, his children, and he adored his grandchildren. He will always hold a special place in many people's hearts and his family will miss him greatly.
