Obituary:

John Earnest Lysinger passed away suddenly in San Antonio on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at the age of 77. He was born in Mission, TX on June 18, 1935, to Walter and Edith Lysinger. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

John joined the Knights of Columbus when he was just 18 years old. He was a member for almost 60 years and achievied 4th Degree. John led his sons' troops as a Boy Scout Leader and Trainer for 24 years. He retired from IBM after 36 years. John was a patient man who always seemed to be in a good mood. It was apparent in everything he did that he had a profound love for his wife and children.

John is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Judith Lysinger of Boerne; his 10 children: Chris Lysinger of Midland, Beth Anderson of Boerne, Walter Lysinger of Tampa, FL, Larry Lysinger of Corpus Christi, Diana Hickerson of Gillet, Michelle Lysinger of Spring, Richard Lysinger of Boerne, Mary Margaret Musslewhite of Boerne, LtC. John Andrew Lysinger of Honolulu, and Brother Nathanael Mary Lysinger CFR of Yonkers, NY; and his brother James Lysinger of San Antonio. John was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

The Recitation of the Rosary will be Friday, October 26, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be led by Fr. Tony Cummins on Saturday, October 27, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with interment following at the Boerne Cemetery.
