Obituary:

John MacAllister Reeder, 70, of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012, with his loving family by his side. He was born the son of Howard Chandler Reeder and Helen MacAllister Reeder in Chicago, IL on December 3, 1941.

He attended New Trier High School in Wilmette, IL and Trinity College in Hartford, CT. After spending much of his early life in Louisiana, John married his wife Charlotte in 1981, and moved his family to Northern Vermont where they raised their two children. He worked for several years in Real Estate, and owned and operated the Peter D. Watson Agency, Inc in Greensboro, VT for over 20 years. He was very active in Craftsbury Sports, coaching elementary school soccer and baseball and was also Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader for the local troop. He was a veteran of the United States Army, member of the National Conference on Citizenship, and Mason at the Meridian Sun Lodge #20 in Craftsbury. In the 1990's, he served on the board of Sterling College in Craftsbury Common, VT and was a board member of the Greensboro Nursing Home. After retiring and selling his business in 2009, he moved to his permanent residence in Texas where he enjoyed collecting antique cars and spending time with his family.

John is survived by his wife, Charlotte Thistlethwaite Reeder; a daughter, Rachel I. Foreman; a son, Frere G. T. Foreman and wife Lissett; and two grandchildren, Gabriella and Lorenzo. He is preceded in death by his mother and father and sister Jean Reeder Smith.
