Anne Brackin Ardovino, who grew up in Ferris, passed away on 18 September 2012 in Boerne, Texas. She was a graduate of Ferris High School and was married in Ferris. Anne moved to El Paso in 1959 with her husband, Lloyd C. Tyree, Jr. and daughters Elizabeth and Lou. In 1966, Anne married Anthony Ardovino with whom she had son Michael. For over 30 years, Anne was a devoted employee of the El Paso Public School District and of Region XIX Service Center. An avid antique collector and gardener, Anne made many friends in those circles. Additionally, Anne was an active member of Faith Methodist Church and a regular volunteer at polling places. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, famously remembered for her meringue pies, her equally delicious humor, and her warmth. Anne's parents, Earnest and Minrose Brackin, brothers Murray and Robin Brackin, and sisters Mary Myn Jones and Earnestine Renfro preceded Anne in death. Her beloved nephews Allie L. Renfro, Jr. and Randall Brackin Jones also preceded her.
Daughters Elizabeth Tyree of Boerne and Lou Mays of Midland and son, Dr. Michael Ardovino of Washington, D.C., survive Anne. Additionally, Anne leaves grandchildren Dr. Gerald Tyree Delk of Austin, Jennifer Delk-Fikes of Midland, and Michelle Lea Mays of Austin together with great-grandchildren Kaggan Davis, Torey Jean Fikes, and Brennon Fikes. Nephews David Jones and Murray Brackin together with nieces Susan Hastings, Nancy Spain, Gayle Shepherd, Pam Buske, Joan Germany, Melinda Jennings, Kim Lawson, and Dorian Brackin also survive Anne.
Final services for Anne will be held in Ferris, Texas on 5 October at 11:00 a.m. at Ferris First Methodist Church (101 Redbud Street, Ferris, Texas). Flowers may be sent directly to the church.
