Ronald “Ron” Emil Onofrey went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 23, 2012. He was born on November 13, 1964, in Media, Pennsylvania to Robert “Bob” J. and Antje A. Onofrey. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Anthony and Helen Onofrey of Ford City, Pennsylvania, and Emil and Luise Pohlmann and uncle Uwe Pohlmann of Kiel, Germany.
Ron is survived by his parents Bob and Antje Onofrey of Boerne; his wife Linda Onofrey of Boerne; daughters Sophie and Madeline Onofrey of Houston; brother John Onofrey and his wife Trudy of Richmond, TX; his niece Courtney Onofrey and nephew Sam Onofrey; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Ron enjoyed the company of animals and became a Vet Tech. He worked several years for a Houston Veterinary Clinic. He also spent many years in Restaurant Management before working for the City of Boerne.
Having spent most of his young life in St. Louis, Missouri, he was an avid fan of all of the St. Louis teams, especially the Cardinals. Ron was a loving, kindred spirit, and an unpretentious human being. He faced remarkable challenges in his life with admirable strength. He had a tremendous amount of respect for others and was always there to help.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in the Day Chapel at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at the Boerne Cemetery.
