Obituary:

Suzanne Jennings Perkins, 60, of San Antonio, Texas passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012, in Boerne, Texas after her courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama on October 14, 1951, to her parents, Dr. Charles L. Jennings and Peggy L. Jennings.

Suzanne was one of six children and is survived by her brothers, Peter, Chuck, Steve, Mike, and Bruce Jennings, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her loving and caring husband, Jerry Perkins, with whom she had shared 35 years; her daughter, Stephanie Carrera Abbey and husband Rick Abbey; and one grandson Zachary.

Suzanne graduated from John Marshall High School in San Antonio in 1969. She worked in sales for Kraft Foods and retired from the company in 2007 after 28 years. After retirement, she worked for La Fiesta Supermarkets. Suzanne enjoyed traveling with Jerry around the country and also overseas. They moved from San Antonio to Boerne in 1998 because she loved the Hill Country. Suzanne was an avid reader and dabbled in photography. She had a gift of gab and loved talking with people and getting to know them better. She was always laughing. Suzanne appreciated the time she spent with her family and felt very blessed to be a Grandma. She had a positive outlook on life and maintained an optimistic attitude, regardless of the many challenges life threw at her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
