Frederick “Fred” Lee Keller, Sr. passed away in Boerne on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the age of 70. He was born in Temple on June 7, 1941, to Herbert and Rosalea Keller. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Fred served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He was extremely patriotic and loved the country he served. He was a dedicated and avid hunter, fisherman, and skilled woodworker. He loved serving his church, and was genuine in caring for his fellow man. Fred put his family before himself, and made sure Godly values were passed on to his children and grandchildren. He was naturally gifted at being a friend to so many with his easy-going character, honesty, and warm personality.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Margie; his son, Frederick Lee Keller, Jr. and his wife Tracy of Thompsons Station, Tennessee; his daughter, Kristen Manivilovski and her husband Mike of Delaware, Ohio; and his sister, Amy Becton and her husband Joe of Austin. Fred was blessed with five grandchildren: Kaylea, Chris, Trip, Nicholas, and Matthew.
A memorial service with Military Honors will be held Thursday, May 24, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund at 315 Rosewood Ave., Boerne, TX 78006.
