Obituary:

Mildred Faye Autry Moore passed away at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Sisterdale while surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 8, 2012. She would have been 96 on her birthday, May 20th. She was born in San Antonio to Albert and Emma Autry. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 years, Archie Jesse Moore; and her brothers, Floyd Autry, Howard Autry, and Wesley Autry.

Mildred is survived by her daughters, Sandra Lester of San Antonio and Sharon Wolff and her husband George of Sisterdale; her grandchildren Todd Wolff and his wife Shawn of Sisterdale, Brett Wolff of Boerne, Judge Jason Wolff and his wife Lyn of San Antonio, and MAJ. Sean Lester and his wife Julianna of San Antonio. Mildred was blessed with 6 great grandchildren: Austin, Jacob, Erin, Tyler, Samantha, and Christopher. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews.

Mildred is a fifth generation San Antonian and a sixth generation Texan. She was a cousin of Micajah Autry who was a defender at The Alamo. She was a descendant of Joseph Coker who was the original settler of the Coker Community of San Antonio. Mildred was the first female insurance underwriter in the state of Texas. She was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Mildred and Archie were founding members of the Bulverde United Methodist Church.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 11, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. at the Coker Cemetery in San Antonio. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations go to the Kendall County Women’s Shelter at PO Box 1087, Boerne, TX 78006.
