Roland M. Lux, lifetime Kendall County resident and former Deputy Sheriff and Constable, passed away in Boerne on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the age of 90. He was born in Kendalia, Texas to Bertha Flugrath and Peter Lux on September 20, 1921. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Dale Lux.
In 1944, while on leave from the US Navy, Roland attended a dance in Luckenbach, Texas. It was here that he saw the “prettiest girl he had ever seen.” He married Florence (Fischer) and they lived their lives out on their ranch located in Kendalia, Texas. Roland was a Deputy Sheriff for Kendall County for 16 years and was then a Constable for Precinct 3 for 12 years. Roland was very proud of his service in the United States Navy and his participation in WWII. During his last few years, he liked to share his military experiences with others.
Roland is survived by his sweetheart of 66 years, Florence Lux; his son Dennis Lux and his wife; 5 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
