Zachariah “Zach” Bennett Christy passed away in Boerne on Thursday, January 12, 2012, at the age of 18. He was born on May 19, 1993, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Bryan Christy and Pamela Herald. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Carol Smith and his cousin Erika Geiger; his granddad Thomas Burt; his great grandfather and great grandmother Leonard “Major Papa” and Stella Zamora; and his great grandmother Blanche Christy.

Zach is survived by his father Bryan Christy; his mother Pamela Herald and his stepfather Brian Herald; his grandparents Donald and Annette Zamora and Robert Bennett and Heidi Christy; his sisters Sarah Smith, Kylie Christy, and Rayna Christy; his stepsister Caitlind Christy; his stepbrother Zachary Herald; his aunts Laura and her husband Daniel Geiger and Dawn Moseley; cousins Paul and Matthew Geiger, and Meagan, Madisen, and Macie Moseley; his great aunts and uncles; and his long-time girlfriend Morgan Escamilla.

Zach attended Taft High School in San Antonio and then graduated from Excel Academy. He was an extremely bright young man. He had a passion for music. He was inspired by Iron Maiden so much that he learned to play bass guitar. Zach even formed his own band, Her Eyes in the Sunrise. He worked at Tapatio Springs Resort and Mercedes Benz in Boerne. All Zach ever did was make his family proud.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at 6 pm, in San Antonio at Bandera Road City Church (BRCC.) In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the BRCC Beautiful Feet Fund at 9355 Bandera Road #124, San Antonio, TX 78250.
