Snow Moseley passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011, in Boerne, TX at the age of 80. She was born Allie Wynona to Jack and Gena Moseley on February 10, 1931, in Mason County, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Daniel Moseley, and her sister Betty Price.
As a very young child, Allie had a full head of nearly white hair and was given the nickname of Snow, which became the name she was known by for the rest of her life. As a child, she had an illness that caused her to have health problems the rest of her life. It’s not difficult to imagine why she became the darling of her immediate family, and also cousins, aunts and uncles.
Snow lived in Mason, Johnson City, Brady, Midland, and San Antonio, Texas before moving to Boerne in 1960 with her mother. They lived in a cottage at 200 Ryan Street for many years, then in a home on Third Street. When her mother passed away in 1977, Snow continued to live there until health issues caused her to relocate back to the nursing home at 200 Ryan Street.
Snow had been a long time lover of Pekingese dogs, and was a faithful member of the Church of Christ of Boerne. She loved to be helpful at the nursing home, play bingo, chicken foot, and attend church services at the nursing home when physical ailments prevented her from attending her church in Boerne. One didn’t need to know Snow long to understand that pink was her favorite color, and that family and friends were hugely important to her. When her health was better, at least two decades ago, she could be seen walking down Main Street in Boerne to tend to errands. When Snow saw a need, she was grateful to be able to help in whatever way she could.
Snow had a twinkle in her eye, and an endearing sense of humor that captured the hearts of all who came to know her. She will be admired for her steadfastness in staying the course of her earthly life, and her ability to endure so many physical problems. Snow will be greatly missed, and never forgotten by all who knew and loved her.
Snow is survived by: her niece Karen Ledbetter; great nieces Stephanie Harvey and her husband Ben, Gena Johnson and her husband Todd, Meggie Cheney and her husband Russ; her great- nephew Logan Ledbetter; and 8 great- great nieces and nephews; her sister-in-law Miriam Moseley; her nieces Nancy White and her husband Constable Don White, and Sandy Collet, as well as numerous close cousins.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 5, 2011, from 5-7:00 p.m. at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday, October 6, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Boerne Church of Christ.
