Helen B. Maxymof, 89, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2011, in Boerne, TX. She was born on November 28, 1921, in Lackawanna, PA to Nicholas and Mary Butchkovitz. She is preceded in death by her husband Theodore Maxymof, her brothers John Butchkovitz and Nick Butchavage, and her sisters Ann Gnall and Mary Tolopko.

Helen moved to Boerne in 1977. Helen and her husband Theodore were very active with St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. They also were involved with Mended Hearts Inc. They enjoyed visiting with patients before and after they went into open heart surgery in San Antonio hospitals. She was an avid dominoes and bingo player in her later years. She resided at Town and Country Manor Nursing Home. Her family will miss her dearly.

Helen is survived by her sons Ted Maxymof and his wife Janis and Ken Maxymof and his wife Christine Jacobs, both of Boerne; and her grandchildren Kristina M. Douthitt and her husband Scott, Rachel Wallace and her husband Timothy, and Heidi Lange and her husband Luis Galito.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 21, 2011, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, September 22, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Boerne. Interment will follow at Boerne Cemetery.
