James Edgar McKamie, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, in San Antonio. James was born on August 29, 1937. He was the eldest son of Exie and Marjorie McKamie who preceded him in death.

James is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Carol Loretta; brother Jerry and wife Linda McKamie; sister Exie and husband Stan Hall; children Kelly and husband David Parent, Julie and husband Mike Taylor, all of Boerne, James Stewart of Benbrook, and Jo Ann and husband Greg Hall of Austin; grandchildren Lindsay, Landon, Hailey, Faith, and Grace; as well as 4 great grandchildren.

James was employed at Coastal States for 19 years in Corpus Christi, TX before moving to Boerne in 1985. At that time, he opened and operated The Brake Company in Boerne which is still in operation today.

James was a fair and caring man who was loved by his family and his many friends. He enjoyed playing cards, being with family, and lazy days at the river in Leakey.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 9, 2011, from 10:30 -11:30 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Boerne. Funeral services and a celebration of his James’ life will follow visitation at 11: 30 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will be at the Boerne Cemetery.
