Betty Claire Dube, 80, went to be with her heavenly Father on Sunday, February 20, 2011, in Boerne, TX. She was born in McAllen, TX on March 25, 1930, moving to Houston in the early 1950’s where she met and married Harold W. Dube. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Isla and Joseph Hooks.
Betty is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harold W. Dube; her three children: Terry Dube and his wife Lisa of Dripping Springs, Pam Hughes and her husband Bennie of Richmond, and Carol Teeple and her husband Troy of Seguin; seven grandchildren: Lindsay and Bennie Hughes, Caitlan, Tara and Jessica Teeple, and Thomas “Key” and Wesley Dube. She is also survived by her two sisters, Ruth Hays of Richland Hills and Harriet Tuberose of Dallas, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an active member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Boerne for over 16 years where she was very involved in the choir and the Quilting ministry. She was also a loyal participant in her Bible study group at Fair Oaks Ranch.
Betty was an excellent seamstress, an avid lover of sports (especially golf), and a compassionate advocate for animals and those less fortunate.
A Memorial Service celebrating Betty’s life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 26, 2011, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 9401 Dietz Elkhorn, Boerne, TX 78006.
