Joyce Lorraine Smith passed away in San Antonio on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at the age of 71. She was born on March 3, 1939, to Benny and Mildred Zeena in Kerrville. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Joyce is survived by: her husband of 52 years, Dave Smith; her only daughter, Tammy Smith; her only grandchild, Stefan Ranney; her only sister, Cindy Pfeiffer; and her ten nieces and nephews. She leaves behind one sister-in-law, Nellie Smith.

Mrs. Smith served in the United States Navy as a Chaplain’s Assistant. She worked as a Financial Planner for over 30 years and retired from Thrivent Financial Services as a District Manager. For the past 6 years, she was Dave’s “boss” as his assistant mail carrier. She enjoyed embroidery and even garnered a few First Places at the Kendall County Fair. Joyce was extremely active with her church, St. John Lutheran Church. She will be missed by many.

A Visitation will be Friday, September 17, 2010, from 5-7 PM at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home. Her Funeral will be Saturday, September 18, 2010, at 2 PM at St. John Lutheran Church in Boerne.
