Obituary:

Nell Rogers Hardee, age 92, Mother of Boerne photographer Kim Wallace, passed away in Boerne on Monday, August 30, 2010. She is also survived by her other children Roger and Randy Hardee of Houston and Kris Youell of Boerne. Her grandchildren: Kellie Cabico of San Antonio; Lance Youell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Taylor Wallace of Boerne; and Arianne Hardee of Houston. She was blessed with great grandchildren Hunter Youell of Tulsa, OK and Hannah and Logan Cabico of San Antonio. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Peck Hardee, and her six brothers and sisters.

Nell was born in Big Hill, Texas on August 16, 1918, to John Jefferson Rogers and Inza Fuller Rogers. She spent her school years in Mart, Texas and attended Texas Christian University. She and her husband lived in Midland, Texas for 40 years where they were involved in the oil business. Many days were spent playing golf and bridge, and dancing the night way. They spent another 10 years in Roswell, NM. Nell was a colorful character. She was opinionated and loved to laugh. She had been a full time resident at Hill Country Assisted Living for the last year. No one who met her ever forgot her lively banter and honesty.

The family would like to thank Hill Country Assisted Living for taking such good care of her. We would also like to thank everyone at Vista Care Hospice in Kerrville.
