Hal Allen Kiefer, 69, of Boerne, passed away in San Antonio Thursday July 22, 2010. He was born in Covina, CA on July 21, 1941 to Robert and Irene Kiefer.

Hal was a long time member of St. John Lutheran Church in Boerne. He loved hunting and fishing as well as chewing on cigars. Loving his retirement, he knew the way to the gym to work out but preferred his recliner and used it often as a supervisor’s chair. He was frugal with his finances until it came to providing for his family in which he made sure they lacked nothing. He enjoyed traveling to visit his family and friends and will be dearly missed.

Hal was preceded in death by his father Robert F. Kiefer and his brother Bob “Buddy” Kiefer. He is survived by his wife Judy of 39 years, and two sons Ryan Kiefer of Austin, and Andrew Kiefer of Boerne. He is also survived by his mother Irene Kiefer of Dyersburg, TN, brother Dennis Kiefer and his wife Patsy of Memphis, TN, sister in law Linda Kiefer of Phoenix, AZ, a niece Rachel McNally and her husband Barry of the Netherlands, three nephews Mark Kiefer and his wife Sara of Tulsa, OK, Greg Kiefer and his wife Suzann of Phoenix, AZ, and Chris Kiefer and his wife Heather of Phoenix, AZ, and one aunt Hazel Bonfiglio, as well as numerous great nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday July 24, 2010 at 2:00 PM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boerne with Pastor Henry Schulte officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Boerne Volunteer Fire Department, or the charity of your choice.
