Damon R. Hamilton was born on January 30, 1933, in Wilson County on the family farm in Stockdale, Texas to J.W. and Ruby Rose Hamilton. He passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, in Boerne, at the age of 77.
Upon graduation from Sam Houston High School, Damon joined the Air Force and served in the Korean War. After a 3 year tour in the Far East, he left the Air Force and he married Mary Ann Collins and they made their home in and around the San Antonio and Boerne areas. Damon owned and operated an automobile business for 45 years and was an avid sportsman. During his high school and Air Force years, he played football and baseball. He loved to fish, hunt, bowl, and play golf. Damon’s hobbies were hunting dogs, race horses, and raising cattle.
Damon was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Joe and Charles (Charlie), wife Mary Ann, and granddaughter Catherine. He is survived by: his wife Janette; sister Daisy (Bill) King; daughter Debra Ann Carson; son John Ernest Hamilton; Grandchildren John Warren Carson, Christopher Damon (Sarah) Carson and Ann Marie Carson; Step-daughters Sharon (Gary) Stanford, Patricia (Steve) Brown, Connie Marx, Johnnie Carol (Joel) Reagan, and Anita Mills; 12 step-grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at 2 PM.
