Fred “Freddy” Alton Schladoer passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010, in San Antonio at the age of 68. He was born on his family’s ranch in the Van Raub Community on October 4, 1941. He is preceded in death by his parents Erna and Herbert Schladoer.

Freddy was a hard-working man. He did sheet metal work for Mooney Aviation for 16 years and held various other jobs, ranching all the while. He didn’t take anything off of anyone, but at the same time was a sweet and gentle man who stayed young at heart.

Freddy is survived by his sister Sandra Schladoer of Van Raub, his uncle Carlo Schaefer of New Braunfels, his aunt Margaret Hildabrand of Comfort / Kerrville, and numerous cousins.

There will be a graveside service for Freddy on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at 5:30 PM on the Schladoer Ranch. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to defray the funeral costs. These can be mailed to PO Box 927, Boerne, TX 78006.
