Charles Hill “Tonny” Massey, of Boerne, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2010, in Boerne at the age of 79. Tonny was born on January 18, 1931, in Boerne to Eugene and Ella Phillip Massey.

He was a director of the Kendall County Fair Association, member of the Texas Racing Circuit, member of Boerne Turn Verein, member of St. Helena’s Episcopal Church and later of member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Tonny loved his family and friends and loved life to the fullest.

Tonny was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved daughter Lori McGowen, his brother Phil Massey, and his sister Barbara Crea.

Tonny is survived by his wife of 57 years Lorraine Esser Massey of Boerne, daughter Teri Stewart and husband Kevin of Boerne, son-in-law Mark McGowen of Granbury, grandchildren Megan Snow and her husband Chad of Granbury, Matt McGowen of San Antonio, Kaci Stewart of Boerne, sister Carolyn “Ditty” Kindervather of San Antonio, brother-in-law Tommy Crea of San Antonio, sister-in-law Marilyn Walker of Corpus Christi, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Janette and Damon Hamilton of Boerne, and nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Thursday, March 25, 2010, from 5-7PM at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home. The funeral will be at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Friday, March 26, 2010, at 2PM. Interment will follow at the Boerne Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kevin Stewart, Mark McGowen, Matt McGowen, Chad Snow, Jay Kindervather, and Jim Kindervather.
