Obituary:

Regina Zaiontz Kosub passed away peacefully on Feb. 7, 2010. She was born on Aug. 15, 1917, in St. Hedwig to Annie and Joseph Zaiontz. Her mother passed away at an early age and Regina was subsequently raised by her maternal grandparents. Regina married Felix Kosub and they had three children.

Regina was known to be a strong independent person, who loved to play bingo, dominos and do word puzzles. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed feeding the whole family at holidays. She loved children. She also had many wonderful friends at Town & Country Manor.

She was preceded in death by her husband Felix, her son William (Bill) Kosub and Bill's wife Janet Kosub.

Her survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Lynn Ratcliff of Houston, and Peggy and Bobby Butler of Boerne; four grandchildren, Robert Couture and wife, Robin of Boerne, Melissa Bandy and husband Philip of Falls Church, Va., Michael Ratcliff and wife Melissa of Houston and Kimberly Killough and husband Rod of San Antonio; nine great-grandchildren; and a special niece Catherine Lahmers of Ohio.

Regina's life will be honored with a visitation on Wednesday Feb. 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Feb. 11, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Boerne Cemetery.
