James J. Smith was born January 7, 1932 in Laredo, TX and passed away December 17, 2009 in San Antonio, TX after a long and courageous battle with lymphoma. James was a Korean War Veteran who served in the Navy from 1949 to 1953. Being a commercial and instrument rated private pilot, his greatest passions were aviation and studying history.
James owned and managed Natural Gas Measurement, Inc. in Corpus Christi and San Antonio for 35 years. He retired and with his wife of 55 years, Jeanene, moved to Comfort, TX in 2007. In addition to his wife, James is survived by son, Kirk, residing in Dallas with his wife, Rebecca; daughter Kellye Fergeson, residing in Ingram with her husband Clint.
